The Boma Foundations Class teaches its students to use their creativity and the creative process to come up with designs that appeal to both genders, have a modern and unique style and are made of the best materials available. You will learn how to make clothes for yourself that you can sell or give as gifts and the materials that you use to create these products.
The Boma Foundation Class is divided into different sections that each teach a specific aspect of the art of making clothing. You will learn about sewing techniques, embroidery, pattern making and finishing techniques and much more. You will also learn how to develop and maintain a client base.
There are many different subjects that you will be able to cover in the Boma Foundation Class. There are sections on clothing line design, fashion marketing, graphic design and advertising your clothing line. In addition, you will learn how to develop your customer base and how to market your clothing line. Each of these topics is important to have covered in order to learn how to develop successful clothing lines.
The fashion design section of the class gives you an insight into how to start a clothing line. You will learn how to choose a concept, create a logo and marketing plan and how to source the best possible materials. You will also get to know about the different types of garments that you need to create and the different styles of dress you will need to make for each type of garment. You will learn about colors, fabrics and cuts.
The Graphic Design section of the course will help you learn to create the designs that are used on your clothing and the advertising for your clothing line. You will learn how to draw and color code your clothes and make them match your logo. The classes will also cover the many aspects of advertising your clothing line such as promotional items that you can sell to your customers. You will also learn about creating flyers, posters, catalogs and much more. to promote your clothing line and give you an insight into how you can effectively market your clothing line to customers.
The finishing techniques section of the course will give you an insight into how to apply your knowledge to your clothing line. You will learn about the different finishing techniques that you should employ when making your garments and how to take care of your garments. You will learn about how to sew, stitch and fold and sew again in order to make your garments look like you spent years working on them. The course also covers embroidery, needlework and the different finishing techniques that are required in order to give your garments a unique look.
The course has been created by The College of Fashion at the University of Glasgow and is taught by industry-leading experts in the area of fashion design. You will learn how to design and create high quality clothing that appeals to both the younger and the older members of your audience.
