The CREF has an online program that is based on the theory of “Real Estate Education” (R.E.D) in a classroom setting. The curriculum covers topics such as land surveying, structural analysis, construction documentation, property management, and environmental management. Students will learn about how to document and assess properties for insurance purposes. Students will be taught how to conduct financial audits to ensure that your financial records are in order.
The course includes hands on experience in real estate, including the preparation, planning, and implementation of the real estate management plan and budgeting. In addition, students will learn about the importance of maintaining accurate and timely property records and how to manage land surveys, environmental assessments, and appraisals.
The classroom setting helps the students focus on problem solving skills while learning. Students are able to share their thoughts and questions with fellow students and gain valuable information.
The CREF offers two formats of online programs. Students may elect to complete a full curriculum in a single session, or they may choose to attend a single course and earn up to five credits. Both types of programs are available.
Students who complete this type of program will need to take an exam prior to being issued a Certificate of Completion. The exam is designed to test students’ knowledge of real estate laws and their ability to implement them. Passing the exam ensures continued education and a certificate of completion.
Students interested in completing this program in traditional classroom settings will need to complete the same certification tests. They will still be required to take a full semester of course work. however, and there will be no exam requirement.
The CREF is recognized by most associations as a reputable provider of commercial real estate education. It is also accredited by the American Association of Property Managers (AAPM). It is one of the largest employers in the industry. The institute offers affordable training at a reasonable price.
The real estate certification institute offers four different types of programs. The programs are:
Property Management Specialist Program – This program will train students in all areas of commercial real estate management. The program can be completed in one year or in two semesters.
Real Estate Broker Certification Program – This program will teach students everything about real estate sales and marketing. Students will learn how to market commercial real estate through various media, such as radio, television, print, and Internet.
Real Estate Management Associate Program – This program will train students on property maintenance, management and zoning regulations. as well as legal aspects of the real estate business.
This is the type of program that will be required if students wish to continue their education and obtain their real estate certification. The program may be completed in one to two years, depending on how many credits are earned.
There are two schools for these programs, and each school differs slightly in the training and quality of their real estate certification. Students will complete a minimum of five credits to enroll in a residential program.
There are many advantages to taking the CREF as a training method, because it is the most widely recognized and recommended real estate certification institute. The institute works closely with other institutions to make sure that its courses meet the criteria necessary to qualify for a certificate.
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) recognizes the CREF as a national accredited institution for real estate training. The association does not offer real estate certification but offers other membership benefits.
